About Flyover and Soar with Santa
Flyover is an immersive flying theatre experience that simulates a thrilling cross-country flight across Canada, as well as other places with its rotating seasonal films.
In December there are two films. They are Awaken Canada and Soar With Santa. With both films using motion seats, wind, mist and scent effects, the rides make you feel like you’re literally gliding over Canada’s most iconic natural wonders, from the Rocky Mountains and Niagara Falls to the coastal beauty of British Columbia.
Throughout the year, Flyover features several themed experiences, including Awaken Canada, HowlOver Canada (at Halloween), and the popular Soar With Santa film during the Christmas season. In early winter, the venue is decorated with twinkling lights, Christmas trees and festive displays, creating a warm holiday atmosphere right on Vancouver’s waterfront.
In early winter you can celebrate the holiday season with Soar With Santa, a festive multi-sensory film experience at Flyover in downtown Vancouver. This Christmas-themed featured film lets you “fly” across breathtaking Canadian landscapes and magical winter scenes, complete with festive lights, music, and appearances by Santa and his elves.
Running annually from late November through December, Soar With Santa is one of Vancouver’s most popular indoor Christmas activities. It’s perfect for families, couples and visitors of all ages (so long as they are at least 40 inches tall).
Where is Flyover in Vancouver
Flyover is located on the west side of Canada Place, the iconic building with white sails that also houses the Vancouver Convention Centre and Pan Pacific Hotel. The theatre’s address is 999 Canada Place. It’s just a short walk from Waterfront Station in downtown Vancouver.
To find the entrance to Flyover, walk around to the left (or west) side of the Canada Place promenade. The entrance to the theatre is about halfway down the deck, so about a 5 minute walk.
What to Expect
Each Flyover experience lasts around 25 minutes, including a short pre-show and an 8-minute Ultimate Flying Ride.
When you arrive, you’ll pay for admission or show your online ticket. Before the ride, you can choose to have a souvenir photo taken (available as a print or digital copy for a fee). While waiting, guests queue in a covered area with heaters, which keeps things comfortable even in chilly winter weather.
Inside the building, the pre-show room features holiday décor with decorated Christmas trees, reindeer, elves and festive lights. A short film introduces the story, following three cheerful elves as they describe the film you are about to embark on, and your mission, which is to help find their friends before Santa’s big flight on Christmas Eve.
After the pre-show, guests proceed into the main theatre for a lighthearted safety video before taking their seats. As the ride begins, the seats lift into the air, the lights dim, and you’re whisked away on an exhilarating cross-country adventure.

The Soar with Santa Film Experience
The Soar With Santa film is a special Christmas edition of Flyover’s original iconic flying film that takes visitors on a journey across Canada. The immersive ride takes guests from coast to coast, flying over Toronto, Niagara Falls, the Prairies, the Rocky Mountains, the Okanagan Valley, and Vancouver’s stunning skyline.
Throughout the journey, you’ll spot Santa’s elves paragliding, canoeing and exploring Canada’s natural beauty. The highlight comes near the end, when you soar through the Northern Lights and over Santa’s North Pole workshop. It’s a breathtaking, magical finale that delights visitors of all ages.
What makes Flyover special is its four-dimensional experience complete with moving seats, wind effects, mist, and even the scents of pine forests and ocean air. The ride feels astonishingly real, making it a must-do holiday experience in Vancouver.
Beyond the film, the Flyover venue transforms into a festive winter wonderland. Visitors can enjoy beautifully decorated spaces with twinkling lights and holiday displays, perfect for family photos or simply soaking in the Christmas spirit at Canada Place.
